Greetings. I thank you for taking the time to read this Moody’s Customer Newsletter. We hope to utilize this medium to bring you news and information about our company as well as detailing what’s happening in the sphere of local food systems. We plan to offer a few articles every month, each written by some of the folks who prepare our products: from the farm to food safety, from the processing to the retail sector of the company.

While I am pleased and proud of the growth of our business, I feel most privileged that you think highly enough of our product, our people, or our story to make an extra stop for the food you feed your family and friends. I am continually amazed by the distances traveled by some of our customers for the sole purpose of acquiring our product. A few weeks past I was speaking with a customer who drives from the far east side of Indy to the Avon store twice a month just for our meat. Discovering these things about our customers keeps me humbly passionate about what we do—especially in this tough economy. I extend an extra “thank you” to all who drive a fair piece.

This newsletter will provide an excellent format for addressing your questions, comments, and concerns as thoughtful consumers. We look forward to hearing from you and responding on these pages.

AVON STORE UPDATES

Our first retail location has just begun its seventh year! You’ll be glad to know we have recently extended our hours and added Monday to our days of operation.

New Avon Hours (as of November 2nd):
Monday-Thursday 10:00 - 6:00
Friday 10:00 - 7:00
Saturday 9:00 - 4:00

Additionally, we are offering a 10% discount off of all of our meat products on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays in the Avon Store. (Trader’s Point, Pies & More, and Great Harvest excluded from discount.)

We know that time and money are often in short supply, so we’re doing what we can to make our hours more convenient and our product more affordable. In return, we ask that you help us out too. Could you tell just one other person about us? Think of someone at work, school, church, or perhaps neighbors and family members, and encourage them to come in. Just as every bit of savings helps you, every sale helps us make ends meet as well.

When you visit our shops, you are participating in an authentic local food system in its purest form. What does this mean to you? More on this later.
