Community based food has huge advantages. Virtually no other business takes a product from the raw material to the consumer within the area of a few counties. We purchase the animals from local farmers, process it with local people, and sell to local customers.

Control
Adam Moody is involved in every aspect of this process: "from gate to plate." From purchasing, transporting animals, butchering, ageing, and processing, to grinding, wrapping, and selling, he and his wife Lucy are there. If it's not right, they are involved there too! These tasks are performed by a staff of fifteen to twenty.

There is an actual person you can talk with who will answer your questions. It is his business.

Quality
Because of the control we maintain over our product, quality is obtainable instead of a mere goal. We have the best beef, pork, lamb, and chicken West Central Indiana has to offer. Freshness is a large part of the success of our products. You won't see a "sell by" date in our meat case. The product the grocery offers has most likely traveled hundreds of miles on its way to your dinner table; from the farmer, trucker, livestock broker, trucker, processor, trucker, grinding plant, trucker, distribution warehouse, trucker, your local store, and finally, to the consumer. That's twelve pairs of hands and many miles between you and your family's food. We offer a superior system: from farmer to trailer to processor to consumer.

Our service speaks for itself. Custom cuts, special cuts, small packages, large packages, phone ahead drive-up window (Avon store), answers to questions, ideas, cooking tips, and a high quality trained staff all add up to impeccable service.

Are our prices higher? Some are, some aren't. We charge what we must to keep the lights on. We do not run sales. We have no reason to do so. If you're looking for the cheapest meat you will not find it here. If you need the highest quality meats with integrity and service you will find it here, and we look forward to being your source.
