Certified Organic Processing

Our certification as the first organic meat processor in the area opens up exciting opportunities - not only for Moody Meats, but also for organic livestock farmers in the state of Indiana.

Certified organic products are the fastest growing sector in the food industry, and Indiana farmers are rapidly rising to meet this demand. However, to sell a product as certified organic, both the farm and the processing facility used must be certified.

In the past, the lack of such a facility has forced organic livestock producers to market their product to wholesalers hundreds of miles away. Now, as a result of Moody Meats' organic processor certification, these livestock producers will be able to accompany their product "from gate to plate", enabling them to receive the highest premium from marketing their own products!

The organic processing system at Moody Meats was designed and is implemented by Adam Moody. He has been a long-running advocate of sustainable farming, both on his 300-acre farm and in the meat business. He works personally with livestock producers to assure they receive the service they need to accomplish the finished product they seek. Adam actually works on the slaughter floor as well. He humanely puts the animals down, washes, hangs, weighs, tags and rolls them into the cooler. Every animal. Every time.

Custom labeling with the producer's farm name and address, along with the weight of the package is also available.

If you are a certified organic livestock producer, or even considering broadening your marketing options, please don't hesitate to call Adam Moody on his cell phone, (765) 376-2179, or e-mail him at contact@moodymeats.com.
